Everyone wants to get Canadian visa, especially from Pakistan, for a lot more benefits. For instance, some people want to have visa for Canada their higher studies purpose, some want to settle their business in Canada etc. So, everyone has a different plan but the same destination. Visa varies from type to type, depending upon the ultimate aim of a person. Let’s say, if anyone wants to do some job in Canada, so he/she will go on Work Visa. If anyone, wants to study, so he’ll go on study Visa for canada instead. So, the type of visa varies according to the aim one possesses. 

Application procedure to apply for a Canadian Visa

There are two modes of submitting an application for a Canadian visa. They are:

-Online mode

For the online application form, you must be having following stated pre-requisites:

  • Access to a scanner or camera to create electronic copies of your documents to upload, and
  • A valid credit card to pay with

-Documented mode

If someone wants to apply for a Canadian visa on the paper form, he/she must follow all the important instructions needed to fill in the application form. 

Few things to keep in in mind

One must be knowledgeable enough regarding the purpose of visiting Canada and what’s the ultimate goal of a person behind it. Commonly, the people who are not the native citizens of Canada or permanent residents for canada , are called visitors. They are legally authorized to enter Canada to fulfill the following defined purposes:

  • visit Canada on holiday (vacation),
  • visit family,
  • Start business, etc.

Visitors are restricted in the time period of stay and subject to various conditions.

Required documents for Canadian Visa

Here are the documents required to obtain a Canadian visa:

  • Your passport.
  • Appropriate Canadian visa application form.
  • Proof of payment for a Canadian visa.
  • Evidence of a clean criminal record.
  • Evidence of good health through medical examinations.
  • Photographs in accordance with the Canadian visa photography requirements.
  • Evidence of financial procedures.
  • Proof that you will return to your home country if the Canadian visa has expired.
  • Identity documents and Public Status.
  • A cover letter explaining the purpose of your trip to Canada.
  • Letter of support / invitation to Canada.

Age

Requirements may vary depending on the applicant is older (over 18 years) or younger (17 or younger). Only adults can be the main applicant in the application. Young children should be connected as foster parents.

When a child travels alone, there are different needs.

Passport

You must have a valid passport and any other travel documents. When applying for a Canadian visa, you must provide copies of the information page of your passport. It should include:

  • Your passport number.
  • Release date and expiration date.
  • Personal information: name, photo, place of birth, and date of birth.

Documents and forms

If you are applying for a Canadian visa, you will need to download the Application Package from the IRCC website. There you will find a guide, a checklist, and all the forms you need to complete and submit.

You must submit all the documents and forms in the checklist. These documents include (but are not limited to) copies of passports, photographs, receipts for payments, and other IDs.

In addition to the documents on the IRCC checklist, different countries may require specific documents. You will need to ask your visa office in your country for additional documents.

Proof of Canadian visa fees paid

To apply for a Canadian visa, you will need to pay the required fees and attach receipts to your application. Payment prices vary depending on the purpose of the trip.

There are two types of payments:

  • Application processing fees
  • Biometric fees

Canadian visa photos

You must provide two passport photographs according to the requirements of Canada. If the images do not meet the requirements of the Government of Canada, your application may be rejected.

You may want to bring photo requirements if you will take a photo and show it to the photographer.

Proof of income

You must provide proof that you can support yourself and any family members who will be accompanying you during your stay. You can do the following:

  • Bank statements.
  • Lease letter showing annual salary.
  • Evidence designed to get financial support from friends / family to meet your stay.
  • Proof of income for your Canadian host or family member.

Keep in mind that this is not a complete list, and different countries may need other types of evidence.

Proof that you will return to your home country if the visa expires

You will need to reassure your visa authorities that after your visa expires, you will return home. There are several ways you can do this, including:

  • Proof of employment. You must provide copies of your employment contract, a letter of employment identifying you as a full-time employee, stating when you are expected to return to work, and your role in the company.
  • If you own a property in your country, you must provide proof of it, such as title deeds or lease agreements.
  • If you have family relationships in your country or people you need to care for, such as elderly family members or children, you need to get proof of your obligations.

Identity documents and Public Status

You need to attach copies of your identity document and social status documents with your Canadian visa application. This includes birth certificates, marriage certificates, or divorce / cancellation certificates.

In some cases, you may be required to provide National IDs or family or home registration.

Police permits

You will need to prove that you have no previous criminal records and are not a danger to Canadian society. You can do this by getting a police certificate or permit in your country.

In some cases, you may need to obtain a police permit from any country where you have resided for more than six months.

Medical examination

You must be in good health to get a Canadian visa. To prove this, you may need to consult a doctor and include the results in your application.

However, if you plan to stay for less than six months, a medical examination is usually not necessary, unless you will be working closely with people.

However, your general doctor cannot diagnose you. It will have to be a Panel Physician.

Letter of support / invitation

In some cases, you may need to provide a letter of invitation from someone in Canada. That person must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.

The person who writes the letter is not legally responsible for you. He should give you the letter, and you should include it in your request.

The letter must include this information about you (visa applicant):

  • Name.
  • Birthday.
  • Phone number and address.
  • Your relationship with the person who wrote the letter.
  • How long you will stay in Canada, where you will live, and when you plan to leave.
  • How you plan to support yourself financially.
